Alex has been a practising veterinary surgeon since qualifying from Cambridge University in 2008. After an initial foray into mixed animal practice, he has spent most of his career working with companion animals. Alex has been the lead veterinary surgeon in 2 practices and his most recent role was as a veterinary team leader in one of the biggest companion animal charities in the country. He really enjoys the problem solving nature of veterinary medicine and he is especially keen on surgery, particularly orthopaedic surgery. In his free time Alex is a member of a local choir, enjoys playing computer and board games. He is also currently learning to coax a piano into producing some appropriate noises, helped by Dexter the cat who he considers to be his personal muse (or should that be mews...). Alex joined FirstVet in November 2021.
