Dr Emma Alsop Veterinarian

firstvet vet donkey

Emma qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2001. After two years of mixed practice, she concentrated on horses and equine internal medicine, completing an internship followed by a hospital clinician and neonatology position, whilst gaining her certificate in equine internal medicine. Emma then travelled the world whilst working as an equine veterinary surgeon. Now settled with a partner, who is also a vet, and their 2.5 year old daughter, Emma has returned to small animal veterinary work, including volunteer work in a charity clinic performing surgeries whilst also consulting in private practice for small animals and horses. She also spent some time working in research, being primarily involved in the development of heart valve replacement equipment and techniques for developing countries. In her free time Emma can be found mountain biking or sea swimming. Emma joined FirstVet in July 2021 and looks forward to providing pet owners with a professional yet approachable and friendly service.
