Ask the vet - Dog

What can I do to stop my dog from gnawing at its paws?

Vet at FirstVet answers:

If your dog is gnawing its paws it is most likely because it is itchy there. If the paws become red and irritated so that sores develop you should contact a veterinarian. Your dog may have a bacterial or fungal infection, or be suffering from an allergy or reaction to something in its environment. Sometimes it can take a while, and several tests, before the cause is found.
