FirstVet veterinarians and specialists

The veterinarians you meet through FirstVet are all experienced UK veterinarians. All of our vets have practised in the UK and are registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Cancelling your consultation

You can cancel your meeting up to 30 minutes before the start time. You can do this yourself by selecting your appointment in the "My Appointments" tab of the FirstVet app. You can also contact us at support@firstvet.co.uk if you need to cancel or rebook. Our telephone customer service is open weekdays, 9 am to 5 pm.

Can I have a prescription for my pet?

No. The majority of simple cases can be solved without prescription. Following your consultation, if our veterinarian's assessment is that your pet might require a prescription, you will be referred to your local veterinarian with a full medical record of the consultation as well as a suggested treatment approach, if appropriate. This is in order for your animal to get the best possible care and to minimise the risk of unnecessary prescription drug treatments.

We comply with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons' guidance in the Code of Professional Conduct for Veterinary Surgeons. Specifically, in Sections 2.27 to 2.30 pertaining to 'Information and Advice Services'.
