Dr. Whitney Collins Veterinarian

Dr. Whitney Collins earned her doctorate from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. Before completing her doctorate, she received her master's in Biology focusing on disease ecology, emerging infectious diseases, and tropical biology conservation in Latin America. Dr. Collins’ clinical work includes working with small animals, birds, exotics, small and large ruminants, and free-ranging and captive wildlife. Dr. Collins is currently a traveling relief veterinarian working in general practice, urgent care, emergency and specialty hospitals, and practicing shelter medicine. When traveling abroad, Dr. Collins enjoys aiding conservation projects, assisting with mass spay and neuter campaigns, collaborating and providing care for animal shelters and refuges, teaching and community outreach, and research evaluating health at the human-animal-ecosystem interface using a One Health approach. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Collins enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures, hiking, yoga, gardening, cooking, and learning Spanish.
