Legal Counsel to FirstVet

At FirstVet, we believe every pet deserves accessible, high-quality healthcare. Through digital innovation, we connect pet owners with experienced veterinarians via video consultations, making veterinary care more accessible, efficient, and compassionate.

We are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team and work closely with our Head of Legal in supporting FirstVet’s continued growth across multiple markets.

The role

As Legal Counsel at FirstVet, you will act as a trusted legal partner to the business, providing pragmatic and business-oriented legal support in a fast-paced, international environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing hands-on legal advice in strategic and operational matters across Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the UK, often with a cross-border perspective

• Supporting commercial teams, HR, product, tech, and other group functions with clear and practical legal guidance

• Drafting, reviewing, and maintaining contracts, general terms & conditions, policies, and other legal documentation, as well as improving legal processes

• Advising on legal matters translating legal requirements into business-friendly solutions

• Mapping and assessing regulatory requirements within the veterinary and digital health space

• Coordinating and managing external counsel in different jurisdictions when needed

• Communicating legal risks and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

While we operate across multiple markets, this role is based in Stockholm and offers a flexible hybrid setup. You’ll have the freedom to work remotely while joining the Stockholm office regularly for meaningful in-person collaboration with HR, Finance, and the CEO.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who combines solid legal expertise with a strong business mindset and enjoys working closely with the organisation.

You have:

• A law degree (Swedish or equivalent international qualification)

• At least 2 years of relevant legal experience

• Background from a law firm and/or an in-house role

• Strong knowledge of contract law and GDPR

• Experience working with UK law or in a UK context (a strong advantage)

• Excellent communication skills in both English and Swedish

• The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with others
