After earning her Master's degree in Geology and serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine, Amy realized her passion was working with animals. She grew up with dogs and was always taking care of pets in the neighborhood as a young girl. She started as a receptionist in a small one-doctor general practice in Georgia and five years later was a Lead ICU Technician for a world-renowned animal hospital in Boston. She has been a veterinary technician for 18 years, thirteen of which have been spent strictly in the ECC department. Amy currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii where she continues to work in the veterinary field as an ICU technician. She also makes time for work at a cat sanctuary on a neighboring island, hiking, swimming, traveling, and spending time with friends.
