Dr. Victoria Lama Veterinarian

Dr. Victoria Lama began her veterinary career at an early age in general practice as an animal shelter volunteer and veterinary assistant in companion animal hospitals where she grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She then went on to receive her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Science from Cornell University followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. In vet school, her career area of emphasis was on the Spectrum of care, as well as research on lower urinary tract disease in domestic species, so she knows much about pee! Before joining FirstVet in 2023, she worked as a full-time associate and relief primary care veterinarian for dogs and cats, and still currently works in the clinic providing relief care in areas of need. Her interests include fear-free canine and feline medicine, especially: client education, preventative care, upper and lower urinary tract disease, dermatology, behavior, and ophthalmology. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga, weight-lifting, swimming, hiking and relaxing with her three adopted felines and French bulldog. She is a big fan of teamwork and effective modes of communication, and looks forward to helping you and your critters!
