Luisa qualified in Portugal, her beautiful country by the sea, in 2012. After spending several years working in busy first-opinion and emergency and critical care small animal hospitals, and being a proud cat lady and advocate, Luisa joined Portugal's first feline-exclusive veterinary hospital in Lisbon. She eventually moved to London in 2017 where she continues to work as a feline-focused clinician. Luisa happily obtained her membership of The Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (MANZCVS) in Medicine of Cats in 2018, becoming a part of the International Society of Feline Medicine's expert panel. She is fascinated by all aspects of feline medicine but has a particular interest in geriatric/paediatric medicine, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care and infectious disease management. Luisa currently travels to work abroad on a regular basis whilst based in Portugal, where she lives with her two beloved three-legged dogs, and one very cheeky cat! Luisa joined FirstVet in September 2021.
