Paul graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2003 and then promptly got on a plane to take his first job in mixed practice here in the UK. After a few years of getting a good foundation in all forms of medicine & surgery (including a fair share of midnight calvings), Paul changed course and went on to complete a Masters degree and 2.5 year residency in Zoo Medicine through the University of Melbourne and Melbourne Zoo. Over the past 15+ years he has worked in a large variety of environments from small private clinics to large, busy urban hospitals, and large charities to locum sole charge work. At every place of work, high quality and compassionate medical care has been fundamental to Paul in helping both animals and concerned owners alike. Paul also has a Zoology degree from the University of Washington in the US. He volunteers as a wildlife vet when he can and is experienced in animal rescue. Paul currently locums in the Midlands as an emergency & critical care and small animal veterinarian. When not working as a clinical vet, Paul enjoys filmmaking, conservation work, international travel and exploring the countryside with his family. Paul joined FirstVet in November 2020.
