Lead Product Designer

FirstVet 🐶, since 2016, has been building a digital platform aiming to create a world where every pet can thrive, not just survive - no matter the circumstances. We are building an end to end ecosystem of products that provide digital first health solutions for pet owners. In order to facilitate FirstVet’s continuous international growth, we’re strengthening our product & design team with a Lead Product Designer. You will lead our UX design organization, providing holistic oversight and direction for our consumer and veterinarian products. The role requires hands-on skills in all aspects of product design, primarily focused on building a strong and cohesive design organization around a scalable vision and approach to our global customer needs.

Your responsibilities:

• Own the overall design of the FirstVet ecosystem of products, driving a user centric design process.
• Manage a small team of senior product designers and UX copy managers, ensuring their continued development, facilitating collaboration, and delivering successful digital experiences.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, user researchers, marketing, and senior stakeholders to define a scalable design vision, acting as the key liaison between these groups.
• Work closely with the product team members to develop and implement UX strategies that align with business goals, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Scale and expand upon our design system, ensuring we have the right tools and processes that solve key scaling challenges without introducing excess processes.
• Design detailed user flows and prototypes that bring the FirstVet vision to life in tangible and well researched ways.
• Work side by side with the user research team to ensure we have a continuous feedback loop between our design team and our customers to validate ideas before we get to the build stage.
• Partner closely with engineering to ensure flawless implementation, delivering refined final products that meet high standards.
• Take ownership and provide strategic oversight for multiple web and app features, interfaces, and experiences from product discovery to implementation.
• Most of all, allow our customers to fall in love with the FirstVet experience.

The person we are looking for:

• Minimum 8 years of experience working as a product designer for digital services and/or apps in a B2C or B2B2C company, preferably in a fast-growing international setting.
• Experience leading and mentoring other designers directly or indirectly to help drive a cohesive product design organization and grow the team professionally.
• Experience leading or expanding upon a scalable design system to enable a flexible yet highly coordinated method of product development.
• Experience working with or leading UX content managers is a plus.
• You are a fantastic visual designer with superb design skills.
• You’ve shipped many consumer products over the years, and understand what it takes to create really good consumer experiences.
• You enjoy solving complex customer and business needs and translating them into simple and intuitive user experiences and products.
• You have extensive knowledge of Figma or similar tools.
• You have a full professional proficiency in English and Swedish, verbal, and writing.
• In order to facilitate your application, we will need a portfolio where you can demonstrate your part in the different projects.
