How poisonous are avocados to dogs?

As of the latest studies, it is yet to be proven exactly how poisonous avocados are to dogs. It is possible a dog will get empoisoned if it eats many avocados. The biggest risk with avocados, however, is their pits: if the pit is swallowed or eaten it will likely cause an obstruction in the gastrointestinal tract which may have a fatal outcome.

In conclusion one can say it is not wise to feed your dog avocados. If it does manage to eat a little bit (without the pit) it is unlikely to be dangerous, but may result in an upset tummy.
