Ask the vet - Dog

What is the difference between the medications Fucidin vet and Fuciderm vet?

Vet at FirstVet answers:

Fucidin is an ointment that contains antibiotics, while Fuciderm is a gel-like ointment that contains both antibiotics and cortisone. Both are used for local skin infections that require antibiotic treatment. If the affected area is also very itchy the vet will likely prescribe Fuciderm instead of Fucidin. Both medications require a prescription and should only be used on the animal intended and as advised by the vet. You should not treat your own pet (or give your ointment to someone else) without a veterinarian’s recommendation. This is important to reduce the risk for developing resistant bacteria, which, currently, is a very big problem.
