Can cats get Lyme Disease?

Vet at FirstVet answers:

Cats can become infected with Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacteria that causes Lyme Disease, but rarely become affected by it. The cat’s immune system often tends to take care of the infection on its own.

There are no definitive symptoms of Lyme Disease in cats because the disease rarely affects cats. It is believed it can result in joint pain and meningitis.
