Ask the vet - Cat

My cat’s eyes are weeping, what should I do?

Vet at FirstVet answers:

If both the eyes are mildly weeping, the discharge is clear, and your cat seems well, it is likely infected with a virus. Keep the area around the eyes dry. If your cat does not improve within a few days you should consult a veterinarian.

If, however, only one eye seems bothered, or if your cat is squinting, the eye is red, cloudy, or the discharge is not clear you should seek veterinary care promptly.

It can be difficult to discern a superficial problem versus a deeper problem with the eye, so it is always best to seek advice from a veterinarian whenever your pet’s eyes do not seem right.
