Is myrrh poisonous to cats?

Vet at FirstVet answers:

Myrrh contains the pyrethroid deltametrin. Deltametrin is poisonous to cats. However, the concentration (amount) of deltamethrin in myrrh is very low and the risk that your cat should get poisoned is relatively small. If your cat licks myrr it can start drooling, but it needs to consume larger amounts in order to be further affected.

It is best to ensure your pets can not access myrrh if you have myrrh in or around your premises.
