Ask the vet - Cat
My cat is sleeping more than usual and is not as playful anymore. Could it be depressed?
Vet at FirstVet answers:
Cats can become stressed and adjust their behaviour if there have been sudden changes to their environment. Examples of such changes include moving, new routines, new pets or family members.
If your cat is not eating or drinking as usual and is also sleeping more it is likely that it is unwell. It is best to consult a veterinarian rather than assume your cat is depressed if it is behaving differently. There could be an underlying disease or painful condition causing the change in behaviour.
