Ask the vet - Cat

Is it dangerous if a bee stings a cat?

Vet at FirstVet answers:

Usually cats tolerate bee stings well. The area that gets stung may swell and be tender to the touch. This, however, goes away on its own, just like it does with people.

Cats can have allergic reactions to bee stings. This is rare. If a cat is allergic to bees it will react by becoming weak, tired, shakey and may vomit, have diarrhoea or develop breathing difficulties. If your cat suffers from any of these symptoms after being stung by a bee you should seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Your cat may require hospitalisation and medical treatment against shock.
