Ask the vet - Cat

My cat has something pinkish-grey covering part of its eye, what is it?

Vet at FirstVet answers:

If you can see a skin-like membrane protruding from the inside of the cat’s eye it is likely a prolapse of the third eyelid. Cats and dogs have an extra eyelid that originates from the inside corner of the eye. It can protrude at times of illness or in association with nerve damage, intestinal parasites, and viral infections. If diseases and neural trauma are ruled out, it is recommended to de-worm your cat.

If sores, known as corneal ulcers, are present on the eye a grey like cloudiness will develop on the clear part of the globe. If you note any such changes you need to seek veterinary care immediately.
