Ask the vet - Cat

What should you do if your cat has gotten something stuck in its throat?

Vet at FirstVet answers:

Try to remove the item (without pushing it farther back in the throat) or pat your cat on its back or chest. If this does not work you can try to perform the Heimlich maneuver by placing your hand on your cat’s abdomen just where the ribs end and apply pressure.

If your cat does not cough up the item you should seek veterinary care immediately.

OBSERVE that you should not spin or shake your cat due to the risk of causing trauma and brain injury.
