Epileptic-like fits can result from the following conditions:

- Inflammatory processes
- Traumatic head injury li>Severe liver disease and electrolyte imbalances
- Epilepsy
- Tumours, primarily in older cats
- Certain toxins /ul>p>In order to find out what has caused the fits a basic neurological examination including blood tests need to be performed. Epidural samples as well as CT and MRIs might also be required.
