Ask the vet - Rabbit

Why are droppings getting stuck to my rabbit’s bottom?

Vet at FirstVet answers:

If you notice droppings getting stuck to your rabbit’s bottom it is likely unable to groom itself. You will need to remove the faeces form your rabbit. This can sometimes be difficult if the droppings have gotten caked into the fur. A veterinarian may need to help you and your rabbit might require an anaesthetic. The other important thing to do is try to find out why this has happened. Does your rabbit have loose stools, have you recently changed the diet? If there have been no dietary changes look for other causes. Is your rabbit in pain? Can it move properly? It is always recommended to consult a veterinarian for help and advice.
